Jingye Group, China's leading steelmaker and multinational conglomerate, acquired British Steel in March 2020 and started a new era in British steelmaking.

Jingye Group was founded in 1990, and its headquarters are located in Shijiazhuang, China.

Jingye Group primarily focuses on steel as its main business, with subsidiaries including Headquarters Steel, Wulanhaote Steel, British Steel, Guangdong Jingye Steel, Guangdong Yuebei Steel, and other production bases. It also engages in diversified operations such as steel deep processing, additive manufacturing (3D printing), international trade, tourism, and hotels. Currently, it has 33,000 employees.

In 2023, the group achieved sales revenue of 340.7 billion RMB. It ranked 88th among China's top 500 enterprises and 34th among China's top 500 manufacturing enterprises. It has been listed on the Fortune Global 500 list for three consecutive years, with a ranking of 320th in 2023.

In 2017, it was selected as one of the first batch of green factories by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and honoured as an outstanding enterprise for the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up in the steel industry. It was also recognised as the most influential/responsible brand in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in 2017, rated as an A+ level highly competitive enterprise in the steel industry, and awarded an A-level environmental performance rating.
