A donation from our Building Stronger Communities programme has helped a swimming club to increase its membership by 20% in the last eight months.

Eston Amateur Swimming Club received the £660 donation last year to enable them to train two volunteers to become coaching assistants.

Chairman of the swimming club Stewart Farrar said: “The increase in the number of coaches has enabled us to increase our membership, with a specific increase in the number of younger swimmers joining the club.

“Each and every donation whether large or small helps us as a small family-friendly swimming club expand the services and opportunities we offer to our members. We have continued to develop over the last year with the help of companies like yourself and are opening up further opportunities and can see the enthusiasm building within the club.”

Eston Amateur Swimming Club is a fully inclusive club providing coaching to more than 100 swimmers from Eston and the surrounding areas.
