UK Minister of State for Transport meets British Steel team at TRAKO 2019

Chris Heaton-Harris MP, Minister of State for Transport, visited members of our rail team in Poland earlier this week.

Attending TRAKO 2019 at Amberexpo in Gdańsk, Account Manager Elisabeth Bremski and Regional Account Manager Tomasz Kaczmarek welcomed the minister to our stand.

Elisabeth said: “We were very pleased to meet the minister – he showed a lot of interest in the challenges both we and the rail industry face.

“The advances we’ve made in our product range mean we’re able to offer longer-lasting rail for a whole host of scenarios, from in-track repairs to improved corrosion resistance offered by our Zinoco® range, something our customers really value. Working closely with customers to solve their challenges is important for us, it keeps the rail industry competitive and moving forward.”

Held every 2 years, TRAKO is Poland’s largest and most prestigious rail industry event – it’s also one of the largest in Central and Eastern Europe. The event is the perfect forum to demonstrate how our innovative rail products are helping tackle common industry issues.

Tomasz said: “We’re proud to be showcasing ML330, our advanced Multi-Life grooved rail. It  has increased wear-resistance and is weld-restorable in track so offers multiple rail lives – this is especially important in urban systems where maintenance and repair times are critical.”

Visitors to the stand also found out about our Stress-Free heat-treated rail range, which offers increased life in track. This product range has exceptional resistance to wear and boasts the lowest residual stress available for reduced risk of foot-fatigue.

Elisabeth said: “The event has been well-attended and we’ve made some promising new contacts. The future is looking bright.”
