Teesside and Skinningrove apprentices celebrate success

Congratulations to our 8 graduates from Teesside and Skinningrove who have successfully completed their 3-year apprenticeship programmes and have begun full-time roles with the business.

Our new colleagues joined the business as apprentices in 2022, and have completed a 3-year training programme with British Steel and TTE that has prepared them for their new careers across both mills.

On 20 October, a graduation ceremony was held to celebrate their achievements, with Maintenance Engineer, Steve Brown, describing the cohort as ‘one of the best they’ve ever had’ with a distinction rate of 75%.

Steve said: “We’re super proud of the 2022 cohort for their fantastic achievement. Their application and attitude has been exemplary and they have been a credit to themselves and to the company.

“The effort and dedication they have put into their 3-year training course has set an amazing benchmark for future apprentices and has put them in a great place as they begin their full-time roles.”

5 of the apprentices have begun their fulltime roles at Teesside in electrical, mechanical and fabrication roles, including 2 who are on shift rotas, while 3 of the apprentices have begun their roles at Skinningrove in electrical, mechanical and fabrication roles.

Our 8 new colleagues are Manjeet Singh, Owen Waugh, Anil Hussain, Taylor Bentley and Finley Gate from Teesside, and Jake Brown, Thomas Readman and Matthew Dix from Skinningrove.
