British Steel sponsors Steel for Life

We’ve become a headline sponsor of Steel for Life to help highlight the benefits of steel within the construction industry.

Recognising the importance of steel within the construction market, we’re pleased to have become members of the British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA), sponsoring their Steel for Life initiative which was launched in 2016.

Steel for Life is a market development programme which promotes steel as the preferred material for framing of buildings, bridges and other structures.

Lisa Coulson, Marketing Manager for Construction, commented: “Steel brings numerous benefits to the market, including quality, structural efficiency and cost effectiveness.

“By working with architects, contractors, cost consultants, engineers and the wider building supply chain, together we can provide knowledge and support for designing in steel.”

British Steel looks forward to a prosperous relationship with the BCSA as we join over 20 industry members to help achieve the universal aim of Steel for Life – educating the construction market for a sustainable future.

Richard Farnsworth, Managing Director for Construction, said: “Steel for Life embodies everything British Steel stands for and we’re delighted to be a headline sponsor.

“While we are proud of our heritage, our dedicated and highly-skilled employees are building a stronger future for ourselves and our partners by making and developing the high-quality products our customers rightly expect.

“Central to our strategy is the continued development of our UK-wide network of distribution and metal centres, which put customers’ needs at their heart.

“We look forward to working with our Steel for Life partners to ensure we build a sustainable future for British Steel, our customers and the wider industry.”
