British Steel's Teesside Beam Mill wins North East Business Apprenticeship Award 2018

British Steel’s Teesside Beam Mill (TBM) has won the prestigious Apprenticeship Award at the North East Business Awards 2018.

The awards were held at Hardwick Hall, County Durham, last night and 600 people were present to see our Beam Mill team scoop the honour.

It came in recognition of the support employees give to our apprentices and followed TBM winning the regional Teesside honour earlier in the year.

Plant Manager Andy Williams said: “We were delighted to win the Teesside award so winning the North East Business one is a source of great pride.

“We’ve a fine history of recruiting apprentices and giving them first class training and career opportunities and it’s fantastic to have this recognised.

“We were up against some first class companies who also see the great value apprenticeships can bring to our businesses. Apprentices are playing a vital role in helping us build a sustainable future and I’d like to thank everyone for helping us achieve this honour, including our employees and partners at Middlesbrough College (STEM centre).”
