British Steel showcases Special Profiles mill to new customer BS Track

British Steel has welcomed a new international Special Profiles customer.

Turkish-based track shoe producer BS Track visited our Special Profiles mill in Skinningrove to see our operations.

Representatives from the company, which specialises in the production of triple, double and single track shoes, spent two days touring the North of England site to review the manufacturing process first-hand.

David Waine, British Steel’s Commercial Director for Special Profiles, said: “We’re really proud that BS Track have chosen us as their supplier, and really excited by the opportunities this presents. We look forward to collaborating with them longer-term. Their customers can take confidence that the steel is being supplied from a world-leading provider of track shoe and long bar profiles.”

Bernhard Nestler, BS Track’s CEO, said: “We had a successful visit to British Steel and toured through the factory (to see) the first class and high quality machining of steel. It is remarkable how British Steel continues to develop. We are sure that with our strong partner British Steel we can offer the best possible quality, British Steel's many years of steel manufacturing experience will be an advantage and we are proud to be able to offer our products worldwide on the basis of high quality.” 

David added: “Every step of the production process is optimised, from steelmaking to heat treatment to ensure that the products produced by BS Track, on their world class processing line, will deliver better performance and last longer. This durability makes them a more sustainable product and a welcome new supplier in to the market.”
