British Steel sections used in redevelopment of The Alexander Stadium

British Steel supplied sections into the stadium which hosted the athletics and opening and closing ceremonies for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The Alexander Stadium in Birmingham was redeveloped for the event and includes 580 tonnes of our structural sections.

Ben Cunliffe, Commercial Director, Construction, said: “We’ve a distinguished record of supplying steel into major sporting venues and this is another fantastic example.

“The Games were an incredible event and our people should take great pride in the fact that some of the best athletes in the world performed in an arena their steel helped build.”
