British Steel launches festive foodbank appeal

British Steel will once again be holding a nationwide foodbank appeal to help those in need this Christmas.

Donation boxes for food will be placed in receptions and signing in areas across British Steel plants, metal centres and sales offices up and down the country.

Rebecca Slater, Community Liaison Manager, said: “We take our role in the community very seriously, and have therefore launched our ‘Building Stronger Communities’ strategy. The aim of this is to have a positive impact on as many people in our communities as possible. The foodbank appeal is a fantastic cause; we were overwhelmed by the level of our employees’ donations last time, and can only hope for a repeat of last year’s generosity.”

Donations received by December 15th will be collected by a representative from the foodbank closest to each of our respective sites.
