April saw the successful conclusion of a 15-day annual external surveillance audit by SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. We were audited against the rigorous international standard for environmental management systems ISO 14001:2015, a particularly pertinent standard as it demonstrates our ongoing push towards high environmental standards.
Simon Walker, Environment Specialist (Systems), said: “This is positive news and is thanks to a lot of effort made by people across the business.
“The standard supports our commitment to continual improvement of our environmental performance, achievement of objectives and fulfilling our legal obligations. A key element is demonstrating we have an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) that controls our activities to prevent pollution and ensures we’re compliant with the standard.”
To maintain the standard, the business will be subject to continued surveillance visits.
