In the community

Working within the local community to ensure sustainable steel solutions.

As a responsible business we work together with our neighbours and local stakeholders to play a positive role in the economic development and social wellbeing of our communities. We respect the environment in which we operate and the wider environment of our local communities.

We have listened to our local communities and stakeholders and work in partnership with them to respond to their needs and aspirations.

With our Building Stronger Communities programme we will aim to support initiatives in that bring sustainable benefits to large groups of individuals in our communities and focus on enhancing three key areas

  • Learning & skills
  • Health safety and wellbeing
  • Protecting and enhancing the environment

Our Building Stronger Communities programme includes financial and in-kind support for our key communities, employee volunteering, recognising employee community work through a financial awards scheme and supporting science, technology, engineering and maths in our local schools.

We will shortly be asking our employees and key stakeholders to nominate a community charity partner.

We’re always happy to hear from our neighbours and will strive to respond to enquiries and requests in a timely way.
