"The apprentices are a huge credit to their parents and the business." Rebecca Lowery, HR Advisor
Sixteen Northern Mills apprentices celebrated receiving their Advanced Level Apprenticeship qualifications last month at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough. All of the apprentices were offered permanent positions within the company and were presented with framed certificates in recognition of their effort and hard work over the past two years.
Rebecca Lowery, Human Resources Advisor, said: "All the craftsmen and woman should feel very proud of themselves and their achievements. They are a huge credit to their parents and the business." The event, which was held on the 25 September, was attended by Tata Steel representatives, TTE representatives, sponsors and mentors, as well as the parents and guests of the apprentices. It began with the apprentices and their families touring the mill and was followed by an evening of speeches and presentations. Various nominated speakers from the business presented the apprentices with their awards.

Giles Robins, Electrical Engineer, and Andy Clark, Mechanical Engineer, spoke about the Skinningrove craftsmen. At the end of the evening, the awards and certificates were presented to the apprentices by the two lead engineers from each mill, Steve Bowman and Stuart Wood.
Finally, Rebecca thanked all the apprentices for their hard work and the way they had conducted themselves over the past two years. Maintenance Engineer Andy Clark was responsible for the apprentice training and added: "I would like to thank the rest of the steering group and the rest of the Northern Mills management team at TBM and Skinningrove for providing the funds for the event at Middlesbrough Football Club and additionally TTE apprentice providers, mentors and sponsors for attending."
